As Thailand’s first fine arts university established since 1943 by Professor Silpa Bhirasri (Professor Corrado Feroci), Silpakorn University has marked the beginning of modern art in Thailand and the start of the Thai art scene’s rise to international standards. Silpakorn University has been known as the country’s first institution to offer a program in printmaking and the university’s academic reputation has been widely accepted both nationally and internationally.  
   
       As a result, we are extremely delighted and proud to provide the forum where Thai artists and printmakers can demonstrate their competence and creativity where they can interact with artists from other cultures all around the world and where they can share their experience and expertises in artistic and cultural perspectives.  
    
       For persuing our high initiative, the 1st International Print and Drawing Exhibition was originated and performed in 2003 with totally 3,975 pieces of works from 1,036 artists in 58 countries around the world. In 2008, Silpakorn University, in cooperation with the Siam Cement Foundation, continually proceeded the 2nd Bangkok Triennale International Print and Drawing Exhibition which was held from 2008-2010 to offer Thai and foreign artists an opportunity to display their most recent works and to demonstrate the progressive development of Modern Art circle inner and across the regions, as well as to be a part of our  activity to celebrate 65th Anniversary of Silpakorn University in 2008. This contest represented as a cross-cultural friendship between the artists all around the world and their competent artistic insights that we met a high success of 1,389 artists participating from 64 countries from this second competition.  
    
 

     This year, as our sharing parts to celebrate on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 5th December 2011, as well-recognized as “The Supreme Artist of Siam”, Silpakorn University, in cooperationwith Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture, Thailand will proceed the 3rd Bangkok Triennale International Print and Drawing Exhibition from 2011- 2013 in celebration of this memorable occasion.
